Are you suspecting herbicide injury on ornamental plants? A correct diagnosis can be challenging but photographs of injured plants can help you identify possible herbicide drift.
This resource is created by University of Illinois specialists to assist you with identifying herbicide injuries. It is based on a landscape drift project where several species of ornamentals and vegetables were treated with various herbicides. Reduced rates of herbicides were used to induce injury symptoms on the plants.
While they may not be the exact species you are trying to diagnose injury on, the descriptions and photos in this guide should help you in your quest to identify the unknown. Basing your diagnosis off of early symptoms is most useful. These pictures were taken from 2 to 30 days after application (drift) to show symptoms.
